23rd Convocation Ceremony

GHS-IMR witnessed its 23rd Convocation Ceremony on Saturday 27th April, 2019. The academic procession comprised of the Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Sujit Kumar Dubey, Director, Institute of Management, Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U), Varanasi, Mr. A.K. Saraogi, President, (C.A) & C.F.O, J.K. Cements Ltd. & Member Governing Council, Mr. Anil Agarwal, Senior Vice President, (Taxation & Management Services) & Member Governing Council, Director Dr. (Prof.) Rakesh Premi, GHS-IMR, and faculty members.

The program commenced with Saraswati Vandana and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Mr. A.K. Saraogi declared the Convocation open. In his speech, he praised the efforts made by the institute in the field of academics. He read the Chairman’s message to the outgoing batch where the Chairman said–“The most interesting work is done not within but beyond established frames. We push you to see things from the protagonist’s, not just the critic’s, viewpoint. We ask you to address not only the “why” and “what” questions but also the “how” question”.

The Chief Guest of the day, Prof. (Dr.) Sujit Kumar Dubey, in his unique style, mentioned that the outgoing 23rd batch represents and radiates the hope, the hope which is capable of changing not only India but the whole world. He said “Never follow anyone’s path, unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path and by all means you should follow that, otherwise always build your own path. So my message to you is to be true to yourself and everything will be fine”. According to him a person becomes international if he could translate multiple cultures and join them seamlessly.

Dr. (Prof.) Rakesh Premi, while reading the annual report of the institute, mentioned that the meritorious list this year also is dominated by female students, and 37 (65%) students out of the total strength secured First Division. The placement process has been very good for the year. J.K. Technosoft, SMC Finance, TCI (Transport Corporation of India Ltd.), Future Group, Kanpur Plastipack Ltd., Westford University UAE etc. were among the prominent companies which recruited the students through campus placement.

On the achievements made in the concluding academic year, Dr. Premi informed that the Institute was rated NAAC B+ accreditation with institutional CGPA of 2.71 for a period of 5 years. Apart from these two copyrights, one book published by Excel Group with ISBN Number was added to the college’s intellectual capital.

The Director told that the institute has successfully organized around 20 events, of which, the Humanource-2018, Entrepreneurship Summit-2018, Confluence Alumni Meet-2018, Brandcraft-2019 were notable. For the coming year Humanource-2019, Entrepreneurship Summit-2019, Confluence Alumni Meet-2019 will be the major endeavor.

The Incubation Center started with one incubee and has now risen to three incubee’s.

Dr. Shekhar Trivedi presented the 23rd batch of full-time students for conferment of diploma. All students were then called on the dais to receive their Diploma Certificate by the Chief Guest. The hall broke into huge applause as Anmol Sethi was awarded the Chairman’s Gold Medal, Preeti Chhatani was awarded Chairman’s Silver Medal, Saumya Tiwari, Vidisha Bansal and Vaishnavi Bajpai were awarded Director’s Medal for securing third, fourth and fifth position respectively.

The ceremony concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Bhagwan Jagwani, GHS-IMR followed by National Anthem. All the members of the governing council, faculty members, staff, students and their parents were present to witness the occasion.

During the dinner, post convocation ceremony, one of the students of senior batch Vidisha Bansal quoted “It feels great that we have learned a lot in these two years which has enhanced our vision towards new possibilities”. Her batchmate Anmol Sethi commented, “We have learned that opportunities are never-ending and we need to explore these opportunities so that we can grow as a human being, and the best part is that we all know that the institute will be there to fall back upon, if needed.”
