E-SEMINAR on Changing Management Paradigm in VUCA world
Keeping its promise of providing every possible opportunity of exposure for its students GHS-IMR organized 3 days E-seminar from April 17 to April 19, 2020 on Changing Management Paradigm in VUCA world as the theme of the seminar. Seminar was inaugurated with inspiring words of Dr. Prof Rakesh Premi, Director, GHS-IMR who commandeered students to make best of their time and briefed about VUCA world. The first session of the inaugural day started with Mr. Vikas Mohan COO, Farmking Food Products Private Ltd, Ahmedabad who discussed about what differentiates small enterprise with large ones and upcoming strategies in Quarantined economy. In the second session of the day Mr. Deepak Srivastava, Chief-category, Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd, Bengaluru spoke on dynamics of the retail industry in India in pre and post reform period with an inclination towards ‘Bricks v/s Clicks’. He also made students aware about opportunities in Retail industry.
The second day of the session started with Mr. Santosh Dixit who is SAP Technical Consultant with Freedom Consulting group, USA manifested how digital technology provides immense avenues, which frees traditional business from the shackles of obsolete technology. He focused on “IT driving Business”. The second session of Mr. Mukesh Jain, AVP, Journal & Digital Sales, Sage Publications, South Asian Region briefed how product development in the publishing industry is unlike other industries and challenges they encounter due to E-learning platforms. The third session of the day of Mr. Anshuman Sinha, Regional Manager, OEM & Franchise workshops, Castrol India Ltd., Chennai motivated students to reach great heights by open-mind and open-will, espousing Growth mindset from Fixed mindset. The final session of the day was delivered by Mr. Neeraj Srivastava, DGM SIDBI, Ahmedabad. He spoke on role of SIDBI as a refinancing institution providing funding facility through a wide variety of schemes for inclusive growth and development of Indian Economy.
The first session of the third day started with Mr. Siddharth Dwivedi, Zonal Account Manager, Johnson & Johnson deliberated on Integrity selling in B2B business and revealed etiquettes that can be adopted by students when they enter into corporate sector in B2B setting. The second session of the day was delivered by Mr. Adarsh Nigam, Partner, Stanton Chase, Mumbai who illuminated brighter side of current pandemic and convinced students to value time as well as perceive opportunities in every situation. The concluding session on the day three was by Ms. Ratna Aggarwal, Investment Consultant, Banke International, Dubai who sketched the impact of COVID-19 on across different sectors industries, across geographies and across global financial markets. Each session on all three days was followed by Question and Answer session where students cleared their doubts and inquired how to maximize the opportunity existing in the VUCA world. The three-day E-Seminar came to an end by summarization session by Dr. Shekhar Trivedi, Convenor of the program and Dr. Kunwar Milind Singh, co convener where they thanked all the esteemed speakers and also praised the zeal and enthusiasm shown by the students in all the sessions. The program was attended by all the faculty and staff colleagues and students of both first and second year of the PGDM program.
