4th National HR Summit ‘HumanOurce- 2017’ Theme: Reinventing HRM
Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research (GHS-IMR), Kanpur is back with its fourth National HR Summit ‘HumanOurce- 2017’ on September 9th, 2017 (Saturday) in association with The Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) and TiE UP. The aim of the summit since its inception in 2014 is to have dialogue among professionals/academicians and business leaders for integrated and inclusive development of Human capital on regular basis at national and regional level.
Development is not an exclusive word rather it has inclusive property. Developing HR in the dynamism of business becomes even, more encompassing and broad. Restructuring any aspect of HR will give limited mileage. A holistic and radical approach is needed, if we want Shape our Workforce Today for Tomorrow's Challenges.
A great deal of time, thought and attention need to be given to review how organizations can take the challenge of innovation, speed and productivity at the same time maintain their smarter and stronger work force. The scenario is such that we have to reinvent the HR process and practices to bout the present realities of business and industry.
Thus the focus of this confluence is to provide a platform for HR professional to share the novel perspective they have on making HR more relevant and contemporary. Widening gap between HR theory and practice is also a concern of HR Profession. Therefore academicians, practitioners and policy implementers together will cogitate on reinventing HRM.
The current demand from HR Professionals is to give tangible returns, measurable impact and add business value so that organization can have competitive advantage. Such momentous claims compel us to rethink on HR initiatives associated with organizational performance and investigate how the HR field can be mobilized in a new ways to meet the demand of this period of time.
HR can no more be seen as overhead cost and support function rather it has to position itself as integral part of business plan. HR professionals have to work as business partners and provide a vision rather just policy implementers.
Thus the primary theme for this summit is “Reinventing HRM”, with special focus on tactical areas such as, Leadership and Change, Procuring and Training, Organizational Performance, HR Tools and Techniques. This will be discussed through a series of Panel Discussions, Open House Discussion and Plenary sessions.
The summit attempts to provocatively paint a picture of tomorrow while pushing our creative thinking today so as to establish a corporate culture that allows HR to recruit and retain the best and brightest and they in turn excel on demonstrable performance indicators.
