PROGRAM OVERVIEW

As an endeavor towards enhanced learning in students, faculty needs to improve both the content quality and the delivery of the subject matter. Student engagement and understanding of materials is given more emphasis in today’s education over spoon feeding the facts. Therefore, using black-boards or the typical lecture methods are not enough to teach. Activities that require movement, talking, and listening that activates multiple areas of the brain are more beneficial for teaching. "The more parts of your brain you use, the more likely you are to retain information".

Design and selection of teaching methods must take into account not only the nature of the subject matter but also how students learn. In today’s scenario the trend is that it creativity is encouraged, teaching and assessments are connected, students learning is continuously measured during teacher instruction. Commonly useful teaching methods include class participation, demonstration, recitation, memorization, or combinations of these.

To make teaching innovative there are tools to stimulate creativity, playful games to capture interest, visual exercise to excite the young minds, activities where students have freedom to explore. The present FDP aims to acquaint the participants with such tools which can make their teaching more effective.
