GHS-IMR celebrated its 30th Convocation with great enthusiasm and academic pride, marking a significant milestone in the journey of its graduating students. The ceremony brought together distinguished academicians, institutional leaders, faculty members, students and their families to celebrate academic excellence, professional preparedness and the successful completion of the PGDM programme.

The convocation ceremony was graced by Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Vice Chancellor, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Abhishek Singhania, Chairman, GHS-IMR, presided over the ceremony, while Mr. Partho P. Kar, Member, Governing Council, GHS-IMR, was also present on the occasion. The programme included the presentation of the Annual Report, award of diplomas, presentation of scholastic medals, distribution of scholarships and the convocation address by the Chief Guest.

A total of 51 students were awarded their diplomas, comprising 28 female and 23 male students. The graduating cohort demonstrated commendable academic performance, with 36 students securing First Division and 15 students receiving Second Division. The achievement reflected the student’s commitment, perseverance and dedication throughout their academic journey at GHS-IMR.

Presenting the annual report, Dr. (Prof.) Rahul Goyal, Director, GHS-IMR, highlighted the institute’s rich legacy, which began with its first batch in 1995. Over the years, the institute has built an alumni network of more than 2,500 members, with its alumni occupying senior positions such as CEOs, COOs and Vice Presidents across leading organizations and several successfully establishing their own ventures. The institute continues to focus on developing competent management professionals as well as responsible individuals who can make meaningful contributions to their organizations, society and the nation.

The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of the institute’s academic achievers. Anjali Singh, who secured the first position, was awarded the prestigious Chairman’s Gold Medal, while Anjum Verma, securing the second position, received the Chairman’s Silver Medal. Prateek Pahlajani, who stood third, Shweta Singh, securing the fourth position, and Khushi Tandon, securing the fifth position were honored with Meritorious Certificates in recognition of their academic performance. 

Honourable Chairman Shri Abhishek Singhania urged the graduating students to prepare themselves to undertake challenging roles in a world marked by uncertainty, disruption, and rapid technological transformation. He emphasised the importance of continuous learning and encouraged the students to constantly upgrade their knowledge and skills to remain relevant in an ever-evolving professional environment. He also reminded the graduating students that their relationship with the Institute would not end with graduation, as they would now formally become a part of the GHS-IMR alumni community and continue to remain connected with their alma mater.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Vice Chancellor, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur, and an eminent academician with 165 research papers to his credit, highlighted the enduring importance of knowledge in shaping individuals and societies. Describing knowledge as both “power” and “light,” he drew an interesting parallel between Kalidasa’s Meghdootam and contemporary cloud technology. Through this analogy, he reflected on India’s rich tradition of knowledge and innovation and observed that greater efforts could have been made to carry this ancient wisdom forward and integrate it with the technological advancements of the modern era. His address inspired the graduating students to value their intellectual heritage while remaining open to new knowledge, technology, and ideas.

Director of the Institute Dr (Prof.) Rahul Goyal read out the progress report of the Institute, where he stated how the graduating students benefited from GHS-IMR’s emphasis on industry exposure and experiential learning through initiatives such as Micro Visits, Master Classes, Harvard simulations, and activity-based learning. Students visited organizations including Tata Motors, Nestlé, JK Cement, and Dainik Jagran. An archaeological visit to Ghatampur exposed students to the historical and architectural significance of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Bhadreshwar Mahadev Temple and Bhitargaon Temple.

A four-day industrial-cum-excursion tour to Nainital and Pangot for the PGDM Batch 2025–27 combined academic exposure with recreational learning. Students visited the Nestlé Rudrapur Plant and NAARI Pharma Ltd, gaining insights into production processes, quality control and workplace practices. The institute also introduced Harvard management simulations through a new fourth-term credit course, while Master Class sessions featuring experts such as Chris Voss and James Clear provided insights into negotiation, personal development and leadership.

The institute also organised major academic and cultural events, including the Kanpur Literature Festival, Finance Fusion Conclave and BrandCraft 2026. The Second Annual Memorial Lecture commemorating Shri Yadupati Singhania was another feather in a cap. GHS-IMR was also honored with the Excellence in Education Award by The Times of India for its contribution to quality management education, academic innovation and industry-oriented learning.

Industry exposure was further strengthened through the Summer Internship Programme, under which students gained hands-on experience with reputed organizations including Nestlé, Nerolac Paints, Indian Oil, Havells, Superhouse, Coca-Cola, Dainik Jagran, JK Urban Scape, Om Logistics, Motilal Oswal, HDFC and NJ Group, among others. The internships provided students with opportunities to apply classroom concepts to real business situations and gain a deeper understanding of organizational operations and professional workplace practices.

To improve placement preparedness, the institute conducted mock interviews, book review presentations, management games, startup showcases, stock market simulations and numerous activity-based learning exercises. Beyond-the-syllabus sessions covered Excel, financial management, entrepreneurship, marketing, leadership, time management, quantitative techniques and financial statement analysis.

The institute’s commitment to professional development was also reflected in its certification initiatives. Students completed 53 certificate courses across six trimesters, covering areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Design Thinking, Digital Marketing, Finance, Data Science, Leadership, Project Management, Cloud Computing, Big Data, HR Analytics, Six Sigma, Machine Learning and Financial Markets. These programmes complemented formal academic education and strengthened students’ industry-relevant skills and employability.

The convocation also highlighted GHS-IMR’s commitment to supporting deserving students through the Poonam Gyanchandani Memorial Scholarship Programme, funded by RSPL. For the PGDM Batch 2025–27, the scholarship was awarded to Vibha Singh, Reetu Singh, Astha Shukla, Janhwee Upadhyay, Anshika Bajpai, Anjali Chaursiya, and Shristi Gupta. Each of the seven deserving students received a scholarship of ₹2 lakh, with a total scholarship support of ₹14 lakh. The initiative aims to reduce financial barriers and enable deserving students to pursue quality management education.

The placement performance of the graduating batch further reflected the institute’s industry orientation. Fifty-seven companies participated in the final placement process, with students receiving opportunities from reputed organizations including Nestlé, Berger Paints, Decathlon, Flipkart, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Prism Cement and other prominent organizations. The highest package offered was ₹13.96 lakh per annum, while the average package stood at ₹5.27 lakh per annum.

The institute also continued to strengthen its academic and corporate ecosystem through collaborations and industry partnerships. During the year, GHS-IMR signed MoUs with organizations including Delhivery, College Dunia Web Private Limited, Shiksha and the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), further supporting its focus on industry-academia collaboration and professional learning.

The 30th Convocation of GHS-IMR concluded on a note of pride and celebration, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students. The ceremony honored their academic accomplishments and recognized their preparedness to assume professional responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the corporate world and society at large.

The convocation reflected the institute’s sustained commitment to academic excellence, industry-oriented education, professional development and the holistic development of future management professionals. It also underscored GHS-IMR’s endeavour to equip its students with the knowledge, skills and values required to meet the evolving demands of the professional landscape.

The ceremony was attended by the faculty and staff of GHS-IMR, parents and family members of the graduating students, and distinguished dignitaries, who came together to celebrate the students’ accomplishments and mark the beginning of their professional journeys.
