Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, September 2026: Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research (GHS-IMR) is set to welcome its newest batch of students with an exciting and immersive Freshers’ Party themed “Vampires & Vibes – The Halloween Bash” on 30 September 2026 at 3:00 PM at the GHS-IMR Auditorium. Designed as a vibrant celebration of new beginnings, friendship and campus life, the event promises an energetic evening where fresh faces can come together and create unforgettable memories.
The Halloween-inspired theme will bring a distinctive atmosphere to the celebration, with students encouraged to “Dress Up and Bring the Vampire Vibes.” The event’s visual concept features classic Halloween elements including pumpkins, bats, candles, cobwebs, a mysterious castle setting and dramatic gothic imagery. The theme is intended to add an element of fun, creativity and excitement while giving the new students an opportunity to express themselves through costumes and engaging participation.
Welcoming the fresher’s, Dr. Rahul Goyal, Director, GHS-IMR, delivered the Welcome Address. He warmly greeted the new batch and encouraged students to make the most of their time at the institute, actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities, build meaningful relationships and embrace the opportunities offered by campus life.
The Freshers’ Party is an important occasion in the academic calendar as it provides new students with an informal platform to connect with their peers, interact with members of the institute community and become familiar with the vibrant student environment at GHS-IMR. Beyond entertainment, such gatherings contribute to a sense of belonging and encourage students to build relationships that can enrich their overall campus experience.
With the tagline “New Faces, Same Crazy Dreams!” the celebration captures the spirit of beginning a new chapter together. Following the Director’s speech, the event transitioned into a series of engaging performances and cultural showcases. Talented students from the senior batch, including Vibha Singh, Astha Shukla, and Alokik Jaiswal, captivated the audience with their anchoring. A variety of performances—including singing, dancing, and dramatic pieces—were staged to celebrate and honor the seniors. The seniors, in turn, responded with their own graceful and spirited performances, showcasing their talents one last time on the GHS-IMR stage.
To make the evening even more exciting, a talent round along with fun-filled games and competitions was organized. These activities were designed not only to entertain but also to recognize standout personalities from the outgoing batch. The atmosphere was electric as students competed for special titles such as Mr. Fresher, Ms. Fresher, Prince, and Princess 2026. Judging the winners proved to be a difficult task due to the exceptional caliber of participants, each bringing a unique spark to the stage.
As the event progressed, anticipation peaked with the announcement of the title winners. The prestigious titles of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher were awarded to Arjun Srivastava and Ishita Dubey, respectively, for their remarkable presence, leadership, and contributions throughout their time at the institute. The titles of Prince and Princess went to Mohd. Owais Kamal and Anshika Pandey, who impressed the judges with their charisma, confidence, and charm during the evening’s festivities.
The award ceremony was led by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Goyal, along with other faculty members, who graciously presented trophies to the winners.
