Participation in an international study tour enables students to build their personal and social competence and intercultural understanding, including language skills. With this objective in mind, the student of GHS-IMR, PGDM second year batch (2020-2022) went for a 6 days International study tour to Dubai (UAE) from 15^th March, 2022 to 20^th March, 2022.

The International study tour include visits to the capital city of Emirates Dubai, the city known for its luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene, such as the Burj Khalifa. Dubai is also famous for its artificially constructed palm islands, diversity, food scene, and all-inclusive accommodation options.

The study tour started on 15^th March, 2022 with Dubai Dhow Cruise creek Experience. Dhow cruises usually center on traditional dhow vessels. They are an interesting way of enjoying a piece of Dubai’s ancient maritime heritage. They usually combine sumptuous buffet dinners and traditional Arabic heritage. Post this great experience students had come together for dinner on cruise.

The Second day started on 16^th March, 2022 with city tour in which students were exposed to the emirates cultural & historical tour to Dubai City with a blend of glittering cityscape. Students get the chance to see some unique & world’s renowned tourist destinations including Atlantis-The Palm, Burj Khalifa, & Jumeirah mosque, Jumeirah beach, Burj-Al-Arab, Sheikh Zayed road, Dubai Frame and Old Dubai.

The students were able to realize that the city has many cultural highlights and things to do, as well as all the glamorous modern add-ons. The Sheikh zayed road is home to most of Dubai’s skyscrapers, including the Emirates Towers. The highway also connects other new developments such as the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina. The road has most of the Red line of Dubai Metro running alongside it.

The third of the study tour started on 17^th March, 2022 was planned to be one adventurous Desert comprise safaris, wildlife-watching on a Land Rover, spending an evening submerged in entertainment in the midst of the desert in an Arabic tent accompanied by the grandeur of nature.

Students experienced desert safari which provides about 20 minutes of exciting dune bashing along with an electrifying camp journey where one can enjoy quad biking, camel ride and sand skiing.

The vastness of the Arabian Desert, rich experiences in the midst of sand dunes, and an array of exciting activities day in and day out make a desert safari in Dubai an experience of a lifetime.

The Fourth Day of the trip started on 18^th March, 2022 with one of the adventures which is Dubai biggest Atlantis waterpark. Waterscape of Aqua venture, the incredible centerpiece of Atlantis, Paradise Island. It’s home to dozens of pools, rivers and slides—like the six-story Mayan Temple where you plummet down into a shark-filled lagoon—that will take your body, mind and spirit on a wild ride.

The Atlantis Aqua venture water park was simply amazing and students had a wonderful time there. There are over thirty slides of all different sizes and types, including vertical drops, dual water slides for racing on, and even a tube-slide that passes through a Perspex viewing section within a shark tank. They are all tremendously different but are all great fun in their own unique way. Each slide has been given a rating, which indicates exactly which type of slide you are looking at.

All in all, students had the most amazing time there and it is comfortably one of the best water parks globally they have ever been to.

On the last day of study tour on 19^th March, 2022 students experienced 2 International industrial visit and Great Dubai Expo 2022. The first Industry was Kannan Mechanical Services, a professional engineering machine shop providing solutions to various sectors including aerospace, oil & gas and other industries. The second industry which is based in DP world. DP world is a global logistics provider with operation in over 69 countries and across every continent. A leading provider of smart logistics solutions, enabling the flow of trade across the globe.

The students visited Automotive ancillaries limited in Jebel Ali free Zone, which is basically based on Leaf Springs. Leaf springs is to provide comfort to the passengers by minimizing the vertical vibration caused by the nonuniformity of road geometry.

After the industry visits students experienced the great Dubai Expo, It is the first world exhibition in the Middle East, under the theme ‘Connecting minds, creating the future’, 192 participating countries present ideas, innovations and technologies. Dubai Expo is a global event that links innovation, technology, art, and culture to offer a great experience. Different parts of the world mark their presence to share new ideas.

The experience of every student in this International Study Tour 2022 was exemplary and vast. It was a good break for every student from their regular academic schedule and had some excursion activities as well.

The trip was safe and good, informative, vital, knowledgeable and consummate and memorable for each student. The International Study tour 2022 to Dubai, UAE was coordinated by Dr. Kunwar Milind Singh, Associate Professor, Economics & International Business at GHS-IMR.

On 31st January 2022 A presentation session -“curtain raiser to union budget -students perspective” was conducted jointly by the International Business club& Finance Club of Batch 2021-23 of GHSIMR. The faculties incharge of the session were Dr. Kunwar Milind Singh and CS Navya Bajpai

The session was organised to install a deeper understanding of the budget and its facets in the students. Students were divided into 10 groups and each group was allotted a different topic for showcasing its presentation. Students actively participated in the event and made it interestingly a great success.

It was quite uplifting to see the students put their best foot forward in creating presentations and answering the questions putforward to them. Through this event the students got a better understanding of the budget and various aspects of the same.

The event was followed by the live streaming of “Budget -2022-23” on 1^st February for all the students, faculty and staff of GHSIMR.

The festival started with the film ‘Kaagaz Ki Kashti’ on singer Jagjit Singh. The director of the film Brahmanand S. Singh was also present at the festival. After the film was over, he and the film’s co-director Tanvi Jain spoke with Dr. Alok about the journey of making this film.

After the presentation of this film Dr. Rahul Goyal, Yogesh Agarwal, Gaurav Lohia, Ravi Kapoor, Brahmanand Singh, , Meghna Malik, Dr. Sanjay Garg inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp. In the opening ceremony, the director of the festival, Anjali Tiwari, thanked the Singhania family and said that it feels great to start the festival once again after the gap of covid and the presence of people has increased our enthusiasm even more. Dr. Rahul Goyal, Director, of the institution said that the association of the institute with the Literature Festival every year makes us proud. On this occasion, a 2-minute silence was also observed for all the artists who were away from us during covid.

In second session the confiscated literature during the freedom struggle was read. This session was dedicated to the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.  In this session, Ramesh Chandra Musaddi narrated personal memoirs related to the life of Chandrashekhar Azad which his mother had told him. In this session, well-known lawyer and social worker Saeed Naqvi read the decree written by Bahadur Shah Zafar to the British.

Renowned actor or theater artist Rajendra Gupta recited poem along with acting. He could not come due to some reason and by writing a poem especially on Kanpur and sending it through video, he met the audience. Well-known actress Meghna Malik of TV and film world was interviewed by well-known theater artist Suryamohan Kulshrestha and Meghna Malik recited a story written by her mother.

In the last session of the first day, Pandit Bipin Kumar Mishra and Pandit Amarath Jha gave a wonderful presentation of Shiva Stotra through conch shell and Damru.

The second day of the festival started with a session which was organized with the aim of giving a platform to the emerging talents of Kanpur and during this, while Jamaluddin ‘Nawaz’ and Akhtar ‘Kanpuri’ of the city plundered their ghazals, while Dr Pratibha Singh, Parul Garg etc. entertained the audience with Hindi poems. The couplets of Anand Pandey Tanha and the contemporary poems written in English by Shweta Agarwal were also liked. Then in Toss of Coins, Story of Hindustan, Coins of the Word, Dr. Sanjay Garg, who was the director of the Indian Archives, presented Indian history in a very interesting way through coins. Dr. Sanjay Garg is a poet as well as a presenter of history; he also covered this session through poetry and told that he also does poetry with ‘Sagar Akbarabadi Takhlus’.

Well-known filmmaker, director, actor Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi interacted with the audience through a video. In this conversation, Krishna Katha was presented with a new perspective, in which he explained how Krishna consciousness affects our life and mind and spoke on the Karmayogi side of Krishna. Pranoy Basuk presented illustrations of Krish.

The group of five poets Deepti Mishra, Kavita Gupta, Lata Haya, Pragya Vikas, Archana Johri  performs in the name of Gangsister raised the voice of women’s discourse by presenting poems and Shero Shayari on the stage in the style of drama.

Kalpini Komkali, daughter of legendary singer Kumar Gandharva, enthralled the audience with her amazing singing in this session. There was a mixture of classical as well as Sufi in his singing. He played Kabir, Surdas, and Meera and also sung the verses of Gorakhnath. The audience enjoyed his singing by being mesmerized till late in the night.

During this many exhibitions of photography, painting, installation art and fine art were also organized in the premises of the management organization, which were appreciated by the people and bought their favorite books from the book stalls.
