Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management & Research (GHS-IMR), Kanpur, successfully organized its flagship marketing conclave, BrandCraft 26 – GameCraft Edition, on March 25, 2026. The event emerged as a dynamic platform that seamlessly blended marketing, psychology, and gamification, offering participants an immersive and future-ready learning experience.

Centered on the theme of “Gamification 2.0,” this year’s edition explored the next frontier of consumer engagement—moving beyond traditional reward systems to focus on storytelling, emotional resonance, and interactive brand experiences. The conclave witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 32 teams representing leading management institutes across Kanpur, reflecting a vibrant exchange of ideas and innovation.

The program commenced with the auspicious Saraswati Vandana, a traditional invocation seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, knowledge, and learning. Following the invocation, Professor and Director of GHS-IMR, Dr. Rahul Goyal, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, speakers, media representatives, faculty members, and students present at the conclave. In his address, he highlighted “At GHS-IMR, we are committed to nurturing future-ready professionals by integrating innovative pedagogies such as gamification into management education. BrandCraft 26 reflects our vision of experiential learning, where students not only understand concepts but also apply them creatively in real-world scenarios.”

The event commenced with a highly engaging and thought-provoking keynote address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Alok Sanwal, CEO of Dainik Jagran I-Next. Drawing upon his extensive industry experience and deep understanding of the evolving media ecosystem, he offered valuable insights into the rapidly transforming landscape of media, branding, and audience engagement in today’s competitive and increasingly digital-first world.

He emphasized the growing importance of content personalization, data-driven decision-making and innovative storytelling in capturing and retaining audience attention. Highlighting the shift from traditional communication models to interactive and experience-driven engagement, he encouraged participants to think beyond conventional marketing approaches.

Through real-world examples and industry perspectives, Mr. Sanwal inspired students to embrace creativity, adaptability, and strategic thinking as essential competencies for future marketing professionals. His insightful address not only enriched the participants’ understanding of contemporary branding practices but also set a dynamic and motivating tone for the conclave, paving the way for a day filled with learning, innovation, and intellectual exchange.

One of the major highlights of the event was the “Chings ATL/BTL Challenge,” where participants conceptualized and presented gamified advertising strategies. The competition showcased exceptional creativity, strategic depth, and a strong understanding of consumer behavior, as teams crafted innovative campaigns integrating storytelling with marketing objectives. The winners of this challenge were:

Harsh Singh from RAMA University, who won a prize of ₹3,000;
Garima Pandey from HBTU, who won a prize of ₹2,000;
Nitya Dixit, who won a prize of ₹1,000;
Swapnil Prajapati from CSJMU and Nikhil Verma from RAMA University, who received merit certificates.

Adding a unique dimension to the conclave was the “Carbon Credit Trading Simulation,” an engaging activity designed to provide practical exposure to environmental economics. Through a real-time, trading-based simulation, participants navigated complex decision-making scenarios, gaining valuable insights into sustainability and market dynamics. The winners of this segment were Varun Mishra from Jagran College, Priyanshu from Allenhouse, Meghna Dwivedi from Jagran College, and Nikhil Verma from RAMA University, each of whom received a prize of ₹1,500.

The conclave also featured competitions such as “Gamification of Advertisement for Chings” where participants gained hands-on exposure to applying gamification techniques in real-world branding scenarios. They created BTL contraptions for Chings brand for the hypothetical market situation. These sessions encouraged active participation and fostered innovative thinking among attendees.

BrandCraft 2026 witnessed active participation from both undergraduate and postgraduate students, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and collaborative learning. The event created an intellectually stimulating environment that encouraged experimentation, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.

The session was further enriched by the insightful address of Mr. Anubhav Shukla, Director, LGT Wealth, who shared his views on the ongoing geopolitical developments, particularly the Iran situation, and its potential impact on the global financial ecosystem. Drawing from his expertise in wealth management, he explained how geopolitical tensions in the Middle East influence international markets, investor sentiment, and global trade dynamics. Mr. Shukla highlighted that instability in the region, especially around Iran, often affects global oil prices and energy supply chains, which in turn impacts inflation and economic stability across countries. He emphasized that such developments create volatility in financial markets, influencing investment strategies and risk management for businesses and investors.

He also encouraged students and participants to understand the close connection between geopolitics and financial markets. His session provided a broader perspective on how global political developments shape investment decisions and economic policies. Continuing the enlightening session, CA Govind Maheshwari, popularly known as the “Tax Guru,” delivered an insightful address on the changing face of taxation in India from the traditional system to the digital era. In his session, he explained how the taxation framework in India has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade with the integration of technology and digital platforms. He highlighted that earlier taxation procedures were largely manual, time-consuming, and dependent on physical documentation. However, with the introduction of initiatives such as online tax filing systems, GST implementation, e-invoicing, and digital compliance mechanisms, the taxation ecosystem has become more transparent, efficient, and accessible for taxpayers.

CA Maheshwari also emphasised the growing importance of digital literacy for businesses and professionals in order to effectively adapt to the evolving tax environment. He pointed out that technology-driven taxation has significantly reduced errors, improved compliance, and strengthened the monitoring capabilities of regulatory authorities.

Through practical examples and real-life cases, he helped students and participants understand how the shift toward digital taxation is shaping financial management and business operations in India. His session proved to be highly informative and encouraged participants to stay updated with the rapidly evolving taxation landscape.

The session further progressed with an insightful address by Dr. S. K. Agarwal, Educationist and Director of SKY Academy, who spoke on the intriguing theme of “AI and I,” highlighting the relationship between artificial intelligence and human intelligence. In his thought-provoking session, Dr. Agarwal emphasized that while artificial intelligence has rapidly transformed various sectors, including finance, education, healthcare, and business, the role of human intelligence and ethical judgment remains equally significant. He explained that AI has the capability to process vast amounts of data, predict patterns, and enhance decision-making processes. However, it still relies heavily on human creativity, emotional intelligence, and moral responsibility. Dr. Agarwal encouraged students to view AI not as a replacement for human abilities but as a powerful tool that can support and enhance human potential.

He also stressed the importance of developing critical thinking, adaptability, and continuous learning in an era where technology is evolving at an unprecedented pace. According to him, the true progress of society will depend on how effectively humans integrate artificial intelligence with their own intelligence and values.

His address inspired students and participants to embrace technological advancements while maintaining the human perspective that drives innovation, responsibility, and sustainable growth.

Adding a creative and competitive dimension to the event, Biz Canva Clash was also organized as part of the conclave. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various prestigious colleges and management institutes. The objective of the competition was to encourage students to showcase their creativity, strategic thinking, and business acumen through innovative visual presentations.

In this competition, participants were required to use the Canva platform to design impactful business posters and presentations based on contemporary financial and business themes. The activity provided students with an opportunity to blend creativity with analytical thinking while communicating complex financial ideas in a visually engaging manner.

Teams from different colleges actively participated and presented unique concepts reflecting innovation, market understanding, and effective communication. The competition created an energetic environment on campus as students collaborated, brainstormed ideas, and demonstrated their design and marketing skills.

The judges carefully evaluated the entries based on parameters such as creativity, relevance to the theme, clarity of message, and overall presentation. “The winners of the Biz Canva Clash were honored with trophies and cash prizes: the first-place trophy and a prize of Rs. 5,100 were awarded to Dr. Virendra Swarup Institute of Computer Studies (VSICS), while the second-place trophy and Rs. 2,100 were presented to Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research (GHS-IMR).” Biz Canva Clash not only encouraged healthy competition among students but also provided them with a valuable learning experience by allowing them to explore modern digital tools used in business communication and branding.

Er. Devendra Jaiswal, Associate Professor, GHS-IMR, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing his sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The Masquerade Fresher’s Party 2025 was grandly organised by Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research for the newly joined PGDM Batch 2025–27 on September 20, 2025. The evening was filled with glamour, energy, and enthusiasm as it welcomed the new batch with warmth, joy, and celebration.

The ceremony began with an auspicious inauguration address by Prof. (Dr.) Rahul Goyal, Director of GHS-IMR, followed by the lighting of the lamp and candle in honor of Goddess Saraswati, seeking blessings for wisdom and knowledge. This traditional beginning set a spiritual and positive tone for the evening.

After the formal opening, the event took off with fresher introductions, where the junior students introduced themselves with confidence and charm. The lively hosting by Shubh Shukla and Twinkle Gupta added humor, energy, and a vibrant spark to the program.

The seniors left no stone unturned in making their juniors feel special. They showcased a series of musical and cultural performances, including soulful singing, energetic dance numbers, and creative acts. Each performance displayed talent, effort, and enthusiasm, leaving the audience cheering and applauding throughout the evening.

One of the highlights of the evening was the series of competitions organized by Khushi Tandon and Chetan Verma for the juniors. Exciting rounds such as Ramp Walk, Creative Talent Show, and Convincing Acts were conducted to test the confidence, creativity, and wit of the students. These competitions were also stepping stones toward selecting the much-awaited titles of the evening. The judging process turned out to be extremely challenging due to the remarkable participation and outstanding talent displayed by the fresher’s.

Towards the end of the evening, the most prestigious titles were finally announced. The title of Mr. Evening was bagged by Mr. Aditya Chaurasiya, while Ms. Evening was awarded to Ms. Ritu Singh. The much-celebrated titles of Mr. Farewell and Ms. Farewell were Mr. Azam Khan and Ms. Srishti Gupta, respectively. The winners were honored and felicitated with prizes by Prof. Anmol Chopra and other distinguished faculty members, making the moment truly memorable.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Prof. Anmol Chopra, who congratulated the winners, applauded the efforts of all participants, and expressed gratitude to the organizing team and student volunteers for making the event a grand success.

Following the formal closing, the evening shifted into a more informal and joyous atmosphere. Students, faculty, and staff enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and a lively dance floor, where everyone celebrated together, making the night unforgettable.

This journey to the heart of Bundel khand provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the historical and architectural marvels of this magnificent town, which stands as a testament to India’s glorious past.

The journey to Orchha, a town renowned for its majestic palaces, temples, and cenotaphs, was filled with excitement and anticipation.

The first destination was the Orchha River Bank, offering a picturesque view of the Betwa River, where students admired the town’s serene beauty. They then visited the famous Ram Raja Mandir, a revered shrine dedicated to Lord Ram. The temple, unique for its blend of religious and historical significance, provided a spiritually enriching experience, allowing students to witness local traditions and religious practices firsthand.

Next, the students explored the Chhatris (cenotaphs) of Orchha, beautifully carved memorials dedicated to the rulers of the Bundela dynasty. These grand structures, standing along the banks of the Betwa River, left the students in awe with their intricate craftsmanship and serene ambiance. The visit provided valuable insights into the region’s royal legacy and architectural brilliance.

The highlight of the trip was the visit to the Orchha Fort, an architectural masterpiece that showcases a fusion of Rajput and Mughal styles. The students explored its iconic structures, including:

Dr. Gaur Hari Singhania Institute of Management and Research (GHS-IMR) conducted a soft skills training program organized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Kanpur, for its 170 officers. This significant event took place on the 22nd, 23rd, and 27th of March at Hotel Pristine, GT Road, Kanpur. The training sessions aimed to enhance the professional competencies of RBI officers by focusing on crucial aspects of corporate and interpersonal skills.

The sessions witnessed the participation of high-ranking officials, including deputy general managers (DGMs), assistant general managers (AGMs), and numerous probationary officers. All attendees actively engaged in the training, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to learning. Participants presented innovative solutions with a focus on scalability, technology integration, and sustainability, demonstrating their business acumen and strategic thinking.

The festival commenced with a film based on Nida Fazli, directed by Atul Pandey. Actor-writer Atul Tiwari spoke with him about this remarkable film. Answering why he chose Nida for the film, Atul Pandey said that the depth in Nida’s poetry deeply influenced him. That is why he chose Nida over anyone else. Atul Tiwari mentioned that Nida Sahab was not just a poet but also a scholar. Because of this, he sometimes had conflicts with people from the film industry, and people even boycotted him. After the discussion on the film, there was a Q&A session where the audience asked questions, which were answered by director Atul Pandey.

Festival Inauguration

Following this, the festival was officially inaugurated. First, a tribute was paid to the famous tabla player Zakir Hussain. Festival director Anjali Tiwari mentioned that this is the seventh festival, successfully organized with the support of the people of Kanpur. She expressed that this festival will be taken to greater heights in the future. She thanked all the supporters and provided details about the two-day event. She stated that the festival always promotes the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. The screening of the Nida film was a part of this initiative. After this, the formal inauguration of the festival took place by lighting the lamp by Shri Dharmveer Kushwaha, Dr. Rahul Goyal, Dr. Praveen Saraswat, Dr. A.K. Trivedi, and Atul Pandey.

Theme: “Auratanama” and Honor Ceremony

Under the festival’s theme “Auratanama,” Supreme Court Advocate Sheena Taqi was honored for her courage and struggle. The honor was presented by the city’s renowned advocate, Saeed Naqvi. The story of her struggles was narrated by Anita Mishra.

 

Second Session – Bazm-e-Shayari

After this, the Bazm-e-Shayari session commenced, where poets and shayars Ashu Mishra, Bilal Saharanpuri, and Soharab Kakrala presented their poetry.

The event was hosted by poetess Bhavana Mishra.

Bilal Saharanpuri recited:

“Those filled with lies never read stories,
Do not read jokes in mushairas.
Even this year, I could not pay the fees.
Even this year, poor children did not study.”

He dedicated a couplet to Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb:

“I call that room in my house Hindustan,
Where the Gita is placed next to the Quran.”

His wonderful poetry created an enchanting atmosphere.

Soharab Kakrala from Badaun presented:

“There is no time in the journey of life,
To rest for a moment in the shade of curls.
I have gone deep into the ocean to become a pearl.
I have fallen to great depths to reach great heights.
Daughters left with their dowry,
One gets a cup of tea if a relationship is honored.”

Ashu Mishra from Bareilly recited:

“We no longer listen to rumors,
We no longer pay attention to people.
In this city, only you remain loyal to beauty,
All shopkeepers do not keep this merchandise.”

“A bird leaving a drying tree,
Is it not selfishness but ungratefulness?

“My eyes have an ocean buried within,
This is someone’s last favor.
Earlier, your tone was not so harsh.
It seems you fear someone now.”

Every verse was met with enthusiastic applause.

At the end of the session, all the shayars were honored.

Third Session – Aam Baat Khaas Baat

In this session, Atul Tiwari had a conversation with journalist Sopan Joshi about his recently published book “Mangifera Indica—A Biography of Mango.”

Sopan stated that the word “Aam” (Mango) is actually derived from the Urdu word “Awaam” (Public). Further explaining, he said, “I am a journalist of the ‘remaining’ and stay away from the ‘main’ or ‘special.’ My focus is on the common people.”

He called mango the “Fruit of India.”

Atul Tiwari shared an interesting fact that traces of gold are found in mango peels, and mango is even used in cancer treatment.

Sopan mentioned that mango is also used in identifying fake paintings.

This book was written after more than five years of research.

He also noted that while mangoes are mentioned in the Puranas and Upanishads, they are not found in the Vedas.

Mango is associated with both Buddha and Kamadeva. It is mentioned in Kalidasa’s Shakuntalam as well as the Kamasutra, where it is described as the fruit of lovers.

Sopan added that North India is the poorest in terms of mangoes, as mangoes here are genetically weak. Mango is actually a fruit of Eastern India.

In South India, people cultivate mangoes with great effort, while in the North, it is not done as extensively.

The Mughals promoted mango orchards, but the British started cutting them down.

Sopan also shared that Mughal ruler Babur was deeply fond of plants.

 

Fourth Session – A Literature-Loving Actor

In this session, theater actor Rajendra Gupta had a conversation with Suryamohan Kulshreshtha.

Suryamohan asked Rajendra about his experiences at the National School of Drama and the kind of pressure directors used to exert on actors at that time.

They also discussed Rajendra’s journey in TV serials, how those experiences shaped his career, and how his journey evolved over time.

Towards the end, Suryamohan talked about Rajendra’s recent initiative where he recites the works of various poets in his unique style on social media.

Following this, Rajendra Gupta recited several remarkable poems, which received thunderous applause.

 

Fifth Session – Abhijit Ghoshal & Band

In this session, artist Abhijit Ghoshal performed. He is an 11-time winner of Sa Re Ga Ma. He mesmerized the audience with his musical performances. On one hand, he sang several superhit Bollywood songs, while on the other, he presented many of his own composed songs. His bhajans took the audience to a different realm, and he also delivered a musical performance in Sanskrit.

Second Day of Kanpur Literature Festival – First Session

The second day of the Kanpur Literature Festival began with an open mic event. With the thought that a person may be born, but to live, literature, sensitivity, and society are essential, program host and writer Prakhar Srivastava commenced the session.

The session was presided over by Dr. Pratibha Singh, Head and Senior Consultant—Fertility Specialist at Indira IVF, Kanpur Center, who is not only proficient in literary creation but also performs the virtuous task of nurturing the hopes and aspirations growing in the wombs of countless mothers. The session coordinator, Dr. Anjali Bajpai, and Kanak Lata Chauhan, coordinator of the Lucknow Literature Festival, honored her.

Among the participants were Pradeep Ji, Jyoti Yadav, Harmeet Kaur, Anshul Awasthi, Khushi Singh, Harsh, Eram Arora, Anurag Saxena, Kulsum Ansari (a Class 9 student from Allen House School), and Laiba Shakeel (a Class 11 student).

The speakers presented their compositions in Hindi, Urdu, and English, and at the end, the president, Dr. Pratibha, concluded the session with her composition “Tum Main Aur Khula Aasman” (You, Me, and the Open Sky). The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Bhavana Mishra.

December 22 – Second Session

The first session of the second day began with a conversation between Indian Administrative Service officer Ajay Pandey and Dr. Alok Bajpai, where they discussed everything from geopolitics to the intricacies of writing.

Ajay Pandey started his speech with a line from a poem by Longfellow:
“Life is not an empty dream; life is earnest.”

He emphasized that he did not want to talk about himself. He specifically wanted to address the youth and tell them that life itself is vast. Empty words have no meaning.

We live in a patriarchal society. Women may be physically weaker, but they are the ones who inspire men. We do not have stories of women, like the story of Ahilyabai. We must tell women’s stories and talk about their strength.

We should tell the stories of marginalized people.

Feminism simply means demanding dignity. Laws grant us rights, but what we need is dignity.

Speaking about his writing process, he said:
“I always had the desire to write. My sister loved listening to stories. She told me, ‘Write.’ That inspired me.”

Regarding geopolitics, he stated:
“There has never been a single day in history without war. Peace will certainly be established in the Middle East.”

Third Session – The Truth of Indian Painting

Renowned painter Ashok Bhowmick introduced various aspects of Indian painting. Ashok Bhowmick is not only a painter but also a writer. He was in conversation with IIT Kanpur artist Shatarupa Thakurata Roy.

He said that coming to Kanpur feels like coming home. His memories are deeply connected to this city. The general perception of painting among common people is incomplete.

The uniqueness of painting is different from other arts. Unlike poetry or other forms of art, which cannot be bought, art can be purchased. Often, people buy it without necessarily understanding it.

The history of Indian painting is the history of enslaved art. Painting has reached us through religious and political power. If we deeply observe Indian art, Raja Ravi Varma’s contribution is immense.

Our country’s paintings do not record our history. They do not capture pain, suffering, or famines; instead, they focus more on religious interpretations. However, this is not the case in the paintings of Rabindranath Tagore and Amrita Sher-Gil. It can be said that the era of the Renaissance in Indian painting can be attributed to them.
